At last! My NaNoWriMo novel for 2017 has a premise! Behold! (I wrote it in English, but the book is still going to be in Afrikaans… for now.) In a world where the mask you wear and the magic imbued therein can literally determine your social station, talented mask maker Liza-Rose Emmerly wants nothing more…… Continue reading My NaNoWriMo 2017 Novel!
It is with some trepidation that I watch the last days of October flit by, leaving me too scared to look at the date in my diary as that just reminds me how close NaNoWriMo really is and how much I still have to do before Wednesday! But first – Jozi Flash Anthology news! The…… Continue reading Jozi Flash Anthology and NaNoWriMo 2017 News!
It’s nearly the middle of October and, though I wish I could say that my planning is in full swing, it’s more like in half swing… It’s not that I have lost the muse or anything, it’s just that apart from being busy I went and became ill for nearly a whole week. Well, I…… Continue reading NaNoWriMo Prep 2017 – A Cover and Initial Feedback
After spending most of my time simply discovery writing (or pantsing) my stories, I have now moved on to be more of a planner-pantser… or plantser. While this works quite well for flash fiction, for longer pieces… not so much. Then came The Ruon Chronicles, with the story becoming…… Continue reading NaNoWriMo Prep: How I’m Writing My Novel’s Outline
As we enter the last week of NaNoWriMo Prep, I’m very glad to say that my outline for Charms of Life and Death is basically finished. There’s still one part I’m struggling with, but I hope that, as I iron out the scenes, I’ll see what I need to do there.
NaNoWriMo is barrelling down on us at (what seems to me to be) breakneck speed and I, along with thousands of others, are busy prepping to write 50 000 words in November.
