Speculative Fiction by Carin Marais
May has been a month of fiction started, but not necessarily finished. The reason for this is that the stories were written either for Patreon (part 4 of The Box of Secrets) or the writing course I am currently taking through The Open University and FutureLearn.

Okay, so my Saturday of Epic Writing did not pan out quite as I had planned.
I’ll need a few days of epic writing if I want to finish the Camp with my word goal completed.
Giving characters actual faces mean that I not only have a better reference to work from, but also some extra info that I can give to my (unbelievably awesome) readers.

Here’s a quick update of the writerly things I’m busy with.
I’m really enjoying writing part 2 of The Box of Secrets (which will be March’s Patreon fiction), and it does seem as if it is going to be quite a long piece – about 7K words.
I’m taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo in April, and have decided to split my endeavors between writing The Box of Secrets (the current Patreon fiction) and The Charms of Life and Death.
