Speculative Fiction by Carin Marais
It’s nearly the middle of October and, though I wish I could say that my planning is in full swing, it’s more like in half swing… It’s not that I have lost the muse or anything, it’s just that apart from being busy I went and became ill for nearly a whole week. Well, I guess rather now than in November, right?
Initial feedback
Initial feedback on the story and the style has been better than I had anticipated (yay!) and now I feel a lot more confident in writing Papier en porselein. After all, this is quite new territory for me! I am still busy doing research (and continued more with that during Illness Week than actual planning) and am finding that the story is slowly but surely coming together. I still need to make my antagonist stronger, though. He is still a bit two dimensional and boring. But, I still have two weeks left for that before Writing Starts!
Cover
In the meantime (and to make my NaNo page look a little better) I have also created a simple cover for the book…
Loving the cover, where did you get the image? Are we getting an English version for us uhhhh Afrikaans-challenged lovers of your stories?

Thanks!
I got the image on Canva, actually 🙂
And, yes, there will be an English version! 😀 😀 😀

Yes! English version! One day I’ll be Afrikaans-savvy enough to read and appreciate your stories sans translation.
