Huge and Exciting News!

aka The Independent Scholar

In August there will be the 23rd biennial conference of the Southern Africa Society of Medieval and Renaissance Studies. While that is good news in itself, my big and exciting news is that my proposal for a paper to be presented at the conference has been selected! The paper is titled The Cloak as Representation of Unrequited love, the Male Body, and the Limits of the Female Role in Three Medieval Scandinavian Texts, and will look at the texts Gunnlaugs saga ormstungu, Gesta Danorum, and MΓΆttuls saga. (And, yes, it still requires a lot of work…) So I am now, I guess, officially an independent scholar as the last time I spoke there – in 2012 – I was still busy with my MA.

So, in case you were wondering which project the tips from Dim Mirrors are going to, now you know!

Ps. In case you missed it, my flash fiction collection Dim Mirrors is now available on Noisetrade Books. Please spread the word!
